Which do you prefer? Redesigned Demonica, or Classic simple Demonica? A few thoughts would be nifty. ;P

Man, I've really ignored this place. :P

So school's out and I'm back to work full time. I'm taking advantage of the good weather, and biking alot. After work, I take the longest, hilliest (not a real word ;)) rout posable. I do two laps. This takes me an hour to get home, and by which time, I'm panting, sweating like hell, and in dire need of water.

I in fact just drank 1.5 liters of water... in mere minutes. :3

A friend just gave me his scanner. It apperently hated Vista, so I, an XP (64bit pro) user get to use it. This means I can scan some of the work I've been doing. I havn't done a whole lot of digital work lately, so, yaknow, paper wins out. :D

On my bike again.

Phew, so, lifes been really busy. School and work have meshed together in such a way that I don't get to much in the way of free time. I play a Browser game, "Tribal Wars" to get my gaming in, and the rest is, well, stuff I guess. :)

Work and school aside, I've been getting back on the bike. I've gained a ton of weight since a year and a half ago (ok, not a "ton," but I feel it's alot), when I was last riding everyday, everywhere. Little distances are killing me, and I feel like, "this little incline shouldn't have me panting like this! UGH! I gotta work harder!"

But I feel good. :) Today was great weather for being outside, and by time I was done riding around town, I was sizzling hot. But it was greeeeaat! :D

Oh, a game I'm looking forward to when school is done with. [link] It's said to be out some time in 2008, but not before summer. :) Lots of Parkour influance. Mmmm! Parkour! Yummy!

Death to a lifetime of work (happy ending)

So, I had a spot of hard drive troubles the other day, and had to jump through a series of hoops to repair the damage. Tonight, I sit down to do some digital art, and find that my entire art folder is missing! :omfg:

My log says I was experiancing ntfs errors, and eventually crashed on me. I'm told this is basicly some form of HDD failure. I did some chkdsk stuff, and now I seem to be ok... yaknow, minus all my artwork being *OBLITTERATED!*

I gotta figure out how to do data recovery, and see if I can salvage anything. I havn't backed anything up since I got the new computer. So, basicly 5 or so months of work is totally toast. I still have the older stuff, which is of some comfort... but you know, the newer stuff was important too. :( I was working on some fan comic stuff, and there was the contests and... dammit. X(

Oh, no one snagged the screenshot of the 8000th visitor. So winners there. Better luck next run.

[EDIT!] So the next morning I did some file recovery action, and TADA, I got my art back. :D For you computer users, it pays to have at least two physical hard drives (no, partitians don't count). Having three saved my tush.

(EDIT) Vector Art Help!

You know you're an art nerd when...

... you get excited to learn more about Vector Masks, and how you can utilise it. :D [link]

Do you have a few "You knows you're--" to add? :giggle:

[Edit] Vector Art is DEATH!! :faint:

So I tried to step it up a notch. I tried moving past the marble to something more advanced than a sphere. Nothing like a full fledged person. I just picked something close at hand to do. Clouds Advent Buster Sword was near, so I tried that. I've got the shapes down, thanks to the pen tool, but... detail? I don't know how to do detail and maintain the vectorness of it all. :O_o: I mean, all I've even done thusfar is the hilt-guard, and that's just a rectangle with some bolts in it. Here's an example;

My overall goal is to be capable of things like this; [link] (coincidence that I'm using Clouds sword to step up from a marble. :D) It's my inspiration, and what I've unknowingly pined for all this time.

So I'm tapping the community resource now; if you know anything about vector art, and have a good idea of what I'm missing and can help, pleeeeease tell me! :crying:
